Read the news just a few minutes ago and a woman that was working for the Trump campaign had to resign for saying the same. The Trump campaign didn't force her to resign, it was outside people in her state and town where she lives. I think she lives in Ohio.

    You did well. Got out.

My policy for delivering into dangerous areas has been developed with my own experience. I pick a mountain pad somewhere 1 hour or 50 miles from customer. Presuming no thug, parasite, bum or hooker is gonna walk or drive that far just to bother me. If they can find me at all.

In places without mountains I still parked 50 miles away. Memphis, LA and Chicago 100 miles.

First just a commit on the mental health issue. A movie came out in the early 70s. "One Flew Over the Co-Coo's Nest". After that lots of pressure closed the Mental Hospitals. Those patients ended up on the street. Not all street people are there by "choice".

As to being afraid. Yes, there are scary things out there. It is smart to be aware of your surroundings. Right now Charlotte, North Carolina is off my places to deliver too. Just don't need that kind of trouble.

The only real problem I have had while driving was in Detroit. Delivering meat at 2 AM. We had to back into a spot off a street against a fence. The company had a security guard. Young man. Thought he was Rambo. Carried a side arm. While I was backing a large man driving a jaguar drove by. He stopped as I was backing. Rambo draws his weapon. Giant of a man gets out of the car and is as man as I have ever seen anyone. I get out and jump between them. Get Giant to calm down and he goes his way. Later Rambo comes by and tells me that I should have stayed in my truck as he had things under control. After all he was armed.
    Idiot.

That's my singular claim to fame also. Except, my wife makes me have a job. I guess I'll keep both of them.

Try sleeping in an alley under a bridge behind restaurant depot in Brooklyn because elog says so. That was fun, I left as soon as I got hours.

I remember the first time I forcefully kicked my door open to knock a 'ho off the step after she'd been repeatedly asked to leave me be.

    No means no

If I don't want serviced, I'm not interested in giving you $10 to be left alone either.

The third time I have to tell you I'm not very nice.

I believe you should be ready to defend yourself at all times. Bad dudes out there. Take that advice how you will.

I spent a wknd under a bridge in Dallas once
    An empty lot off riverfront
I saw things no one should see
Watched thugs in broad daylight smash out truck Windows and steal everything.
I did it so I could walk into town to watch the Superbowl.
I truly feared for my life.
But the gas station across the street had great tacos.
