I have nightmares of 2000 lb 8' skids of hardwood flooring that are only movable from the end going to houses.
carl320, misterG, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wouldn't be surprised if it is foreign college kids traveling America.....
A lot of these folks come over as some type of "student exchange," (how the hell this can be a STUDENT EXCHANGE I don't know,) and take seasonal jobs at various hospitality businesses around the country.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
That's good living, living next to a USF Reddeway Converter Dolly in Montana in a dirt lot.road_runner and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

You'd be surprised how these kids get around. A lot of them come into the country, and buy an old junker, drive it across the country, or until it dies, then walk away from it. Or they back pack. Or they ride their thumbs. Can't really blame them, who the hell wouldn't take an opportunity to "see the world without a military commitment" in their late teens or early twenties.
They are just kids, and often don't have very much life experience, or good judgement.road_runner and Mike2633 Thank this. -
Hey now. I'm sure I'll get those soon enough. Hasn't been too bad so far. Got to move 11 pallets of stone from the tail to the nose of the trl.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Isn't that fun? Pallet jacks are so handy with those 2500+ pound pallets. Particularly if you had to park where the nose of the trailer is higher than the back....
-
That's not bad.....
...Until you find the 45 inch pallet with 4 evenly spaced stringers, or one made of pine that is crushed by the load before you can move it.
Gearjammin' Penguin and Big Don Thank this. -
Unfortunately, that happens while on level ground.
Thankfully I'm big enough for that slight of an incline to be relatively inconsequential. -
Hell, I wasn't proud. I'd make whoever was shipping, or receiving, help me with those pallets. I was way too darn old to be screwing myself up over their crap.
Particularly after one 2500 + got away from me, and pinned me between the trailer wall and the gaylord. Yeah, it WAS my own stupidity, but I learned from it.
