Hi, Lonesome here. You talk about us "judging" you and your business practices, and how you feel that's not right. Yet you feel comfortable judging me and a few others, just on the basis of the screen name that we chose to use. I've been "Lonesome" on the CB for a lot of years, because I've always been a loner, one to do my own thing, march to my own beat, you might say, without a lot of help, or hoopla.
And yes, I am a company driver, paid hourly, with a W2 at the end of the year. Made over $50,000 last year, home every night, worked 1 Saturday last year, average about 9 hours a day. 2 year old truck that they gave me new, never more than an hour from the plant. Life is pretty good for me these days. Thank you for asking.

I work for a mail contractor. I am paid by the hour, hourly pay depends on the route. Additional hourly rate is paid to offset health insurance costs. Because I am single it more than covers my health, life, dental, vision, long and short term disability . I net an extra $74 per week from that. My W2 for 2015 is 78,000 +. I will be glad to post it if you are skeptical. I average right at 0.52 per mile.
I sleep in my bed every night.

 

My guess is that if the government shut all these 1099 trash companies down it would cripple the economy. There has got to be at least a hundred of them just in Chicago alone.

Truckers, losers usually crying about something or the other. Can't mind your business, running late, cheating on your wife with the lot lizard with no teeth, (Possibly your cousin.) I got into trucking for the freedom, The adventure, friendship, skills and prestige. All I ever heard was a bunch a little #####es crying about their dispatcher, Pay, Truck, Laws, Law Enforcement, Company they work for all at the same time doing what they should not be doing.
Causing them to be late for pickup/Delivery, Breaking down( No Pre-or Post Trips ). Overweight/Filthy ( No Hygiene ).
Cry-babies and losers.
Carrier Concept treated me fair when I was employed with them. Great guys Peter and James. Never had and never will have a bad word to say about them or the company.
They where fair and Honest with me for the time I spent under there employment. All trucking companies have something or other we wont like, The industry as we know is full of ####, Laws and Law Enforcement is all about revenue and truckers make loads of money. (####)...

Find the company that suits you best, Be Honest, Clean, Courteous, keep on learning and do your job.
