Wow that's an old post, almost 9 years ago......wonder where that came from? Ironically years later I worked for a company that subbed loads from them in Ashland City at the water heater plant. Makes me laugh thinking about it.

Which company did you start with?

Shippers Transport - They had a yard down near centennial (Stewart Lane / Briley Parkway) I think Mesilla Valley is in their old yard. I worked for them until they closed down during the recession in 2009, they were a good company. They had Super 10's and Automatics........hired lots of husband and wife teams hauling Dell Freight from El Paso

I remember Shippers Transport. My last company there was Schwerman pulling hazmat/tankers 48 states. They did have an office on Centennial at Elite Tank Wash but don't know if they're still there.

Towards the end we were subbing fright from a whole host companies (A.O Smith). I just remember one of my first loads was full trailer of those small squatty water heaters for mobile homes (all floor loaded) and I hand unloaded the trailer with a 5 stop load throughout Alabama, delivering to some of the tightest fenced in mobile home dealers and some did business out of storage locker places.......ah the good old days!

    Chinatown Thanks this.

A few months ago I bought an A.O. Smith tankless water heater. Hope it holds up better than the Chinese brands.
Yes, the good old days. Docks built for box trucks if they even have a dock at all. One thing I really liked about tankers is no docks and no grocery warehouses.
