We are only about 30 minutes from them. We both recruit out of the same school. Honestly even though their size is much larger than us, we don't understand how they keep so many drivers. One thing we heard is you are only required to go out one week a month. We suppose that's a plus for those that don't want to run.
Also they have many that don't speak English, well we don't know the number actually but we don't do that.
They have been around a long time, probably more than 3 decades so they are established. We do know that they just ordered roughly two hundred trailers from Great Dane and then cancelled half the order and this has turned into a fiasco. To be fair the mega carriers over ordered as well.
We will say this, we hire more from Stevens, CRST and lately TransAm than FBE so that should say something.

FBE has unlimited time off policy between trips. That triangle run, Miami/California/New York and back to Miami is a hard run, but the money is good. Unlimited time off after that run is a good benefit.

Maybe the accessorial pays are good.

What lanes do you guys run? Do you pull dry vans or reefers?

It really shouldn't matter where you live. It's not like OTR companies out of Florida stay in Florida. Besides the cost of living in South Florida is high.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 3, 2016

Depends, I've seen some pretty well paying offers from OTR companies in Florida. Don't know about South Florida but the cost of living in Tampa is low. Especially when compared to Chicago or NYC.
