You could try the Chesapeake Bridge Tunnel System which is Norfolk VA direct across 29 miles of ocean main until eastern shore of maryland. It's actually 31 miles but 29 of that minus three tunnels you have 30 foot rollers at times. It is one of my top favorite crossings, right behind George Washington Bridge and the New River Gorge in West Virginia.

To break up my postings in smaller easier to read bites. $1.50 reminded me of Deregulation back in 1980 not to mention a totally easier culture of trucking in them days if such a concept could be understood. Until 1980 came along and again in 1994 when CDL's roared onto the scene destroying hundreds of thousands of very, very good truckers who went home never to return. 9-11 took care of the rest. In ways I could never imagined in either 1980 or 1994.

The GWB 'favorite' bit... I think we can certify you clinically insane now, x1. Maybe 0100-0400 it could be fun, but all too often 8 miles in 2 hours. Bleh!

Of all the bridges, that one influenced my life and memories both good and bad. My last crossing was on the upper deck at 930 PM on the 12th and eyeballed the burning piles of the fallen towers downriver. What a day that was.

To sidetrack a little bit, we need to send Infantry and Marines with a knife in the teeth and a lust for total victory painted with the blood of every single Terrorist stupid enough to make war on us. It's frigging 15 years now gone and for what? 670,000 new additions to the VA system with around 2.2 million called up to war over all these times. Arkansas has given more than her fair share with the 39th across the board.

We cannot or at least I myself (There is no me, I and mine...) cannot stand making war in drips dabs and thunder.it needs to be a total war that will assure that the Free World, USA, Europe and Russia etc will understand that there is no longer anyone left alive who wishes to butcher, murder or otherwise scare good people.
