Well that just saved me some $$..Was lookin into that idea myself..

 

yeah like alot of things it might look really good and cool... but it's a waste of your time effort and $$$$$

 

there are so many variables when it comes to receive I don't worry about it... cell phone use/cell tower buzz all drops significantly at a certain time of night. the terrain flat/mountains all varies.. I see those big transformer type power lines I'm right near them I shut my equipment off until I'm away from them altogether.. I hear all that noise/white noise like happens in Barstow and other places I just shut my radio off. when you figure out a idiot has piss poor equipment and you see your needle hammered out I shut my #### off till I'm away from that fools junk...lots of idiots like to take a ####ty radio wrap tape around the Mic and leave it like that in the truck stops they burn the radio up after leaving it like that all night....the list goes on and on.... all the crap in space surely isn't going to help your receive

 

It seems to reach your goals and is completely idiotproof. Thats why I recommend his idea.

 

I just got accused of being a base station running 10000 Watts off a big antenna 100 feet in the air. I just chuckled and told the guy "just because my radio sounds the same up close and far away doesn't mean I'm on a base"
Some people have a lot to learn. He was bragging about how great a technician Bob is and how he can talk 12 miles with his $600.00 setup.

 

well ole bob won't go into my radio.. I don't get thru there often anyway....but I give him credit for not liking people talking to him while he's jacking up their radio for them !!!!!!!

 

My mobile works better than Bob's base antenna. I can only imagine how bad things would be letting him touch my equipment but I hear his customers all the time and they usually disappear out of my received within a 5 mile range
