So what you're saying is that TransAm will hire just about anyone
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Well my record is clean I just have a sketchy work history and they are verifying everything so don't seem like it..Broke Down 69 Thanks this.

Pretty much. If you have a CDL can pass a drug test and have at least an intermittent pulse, you're all good.Scooter Jones and austinmike Thank this.

Recovery truck was a total wreck. Spent all day finding a cleaning service. Finally got that done so I go to head over and find out that 4 of my drives are locked up tighter than Dick's hatband. Fought with that for an hour and finally was told to check it back into service. So wasted trip. Will leave out tomorrow on another recovery. You can't make this stuff up folks...its to unbelievable.
More later...DRAGON64, Eldiablo, austinmike and 3 others Thank this. -
I have really enjoyed your thread BD. Good to see you keeping TransAm relevant. I drove there between May 2014 and June 2015 as a company driver so I do feel your pain. I recovered five trucks (three flights, two bus rides) from Cedar Rapids Iowa, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix, South Sioux City Nebraska. Thankfully none of them had bodily fluids secreted in those trucks. I really enjoyed the travel with TransAm and the experience overall. Your writing has great spirit in it. If you don't make it as a trucker (I suspect you will) Creative Writing is definitely your thing. I might go back just to recover trucks at TransAm. I truly have enjoyed this thread. Countdown to your better opportunity is ON!
Big Don and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Well BD my hats off to you keep up the good attitude! It seems TA has no shortage of trucks to recover maybe you could ask them if you can pick which truck to recover that way you can go and see parts of the country you've never been to.
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
You have to be kidding here! I thought all the hooks were converted to Pilots.
This must be their attempt to keep folks that are basically dishonest from being hired. Probably the closest thing they could get to a polygraph, since it has been outlawed for private businesses use. I worked for an outfit back in the late '60s that did a prehire poly, and then a quarterly one for every employee! Got sick and tired of being hooked up to that thing! I was to young and dumb to tell them to stick it....Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
No, you can't make it up.
This is like a comedy of errors.Broke Down 69 and Big Don Thank this.
