    You have to remember that you want your TAXABLE income as small as possible, write offs are part of the equation to make that happen.

    True enough. But after all those write offs and other goodies that are available, the net was still in the $80K range for me. It won't be at the end of this year, because of other ways to move money so as to limit tax exposure.

    And that, my friends, is why we choose to be O/O's over company drivers. Being a business person has advantages and I choose to embrace the flexibility associated with owning my own tractor and trailer.

    I didn't mean to insult anyone. I'm a baby in the truck world compared to you guys. I want to o/o one day as I'm already good with money. I clearly didn't understand that o/o guy I was talking to at the truck stop is all.
