I'm on day 2 of orientation and of course anxious to get with a trainer. There's a ton of information on days 1 and 2, what happens on day 3? I'm just about done with CBT's.
Btw. Not the worst experience. It boring but then again any orientation is, and completely necessary to learn company policy and procedure. They'll take you within 5 miles of the terminal to get food or go to Walmart. The instructor is good. No one has gotten sent home, and they still seem like they want their drivers to be successful. It's really just what we make it.

First thing you have to understand. Orientation is nothing. All it is, is waiting for your drug test to come back. That is it. The rest is just BS.
I had a run today that I would have loved to have done. $3.45 per mile 1500 miles. But they wanted a team to do it and I haven't hired my first employee yet. I couldn't because of the drug test requirement. Well that and the fact that my wife makes me follow the rules.
Get to know the folks in your orientation class. Write their names and phone numbers down. They will be someone to share experiences with.Weeezerd, Thatguy1985 and pattyj Thank this. -
Come back in a couple months and let us know if you still feel the same way about Werner. But you're a positive person so that helps.Anyway If almost everything has been covered during the first two days then the 3rd day is basically slack day. You'll probably be done by noon.Go back to your room relax and wait to hear back telling you when you're trainer is picking you up.Thatguy1985 Thanks this.

Day 3 should be short and easy. Once done, you can go hangout at the driver's lounge in the basement (Omaha terminal). I think you'll have a good time at Werner. Good people and a very good start up company. Good luck brother. I completed my 2 day orientation at the Omaha terminal back in June 2010.Weeezerd and Thatguy1985 Thank this.

I'm out of the Schneider terminal one exit east on Bonnie View, trained with Werner out of the Lancaster terminal in 2003. Why did you choose Werner over all the other starting companies in DFW?
Bakari742 Thanks this.
