Don't just sit in the front seat pondering the universe at sketchy truck stops or rest areas. Riff raff is more likely to come a knockin if they see you sitting there

It's been an EXTREMELY rare time I have felt less than 100% safe. I park as often as possible in hidey holes instead of truck stops if I don't want to idle.
While there have been incidents of truckers getting harassed or worse, IMHO it is way overblown.JV_620, TROOPER to TRUCKER, Longarm and 4 others Thank this. -
The way I figure it, houses are burglarized on the regular, I will keep my house(truck) safe from when potential criminals figure out there is an easy target since many companies don't allow firearms. And 93.7% of truckers can't whoop someone's ### before shoving a box of Twinkies down with a jumbo sized cola chaser.
RedRover, 91B20H8 and Lucy in the Sky Thank this. -
Listening to the cb you'd think most truckers are the biggest baddest dude around. ESPECIALLY when cut in front of lolJV_620, Short Fuse EOD, Longarm and 6 others Thank this.

I sleep on a mountain patch 50 to 100 miles out from receiver or during transit. Might load in Nogales all day and then wife and I will nap on a certain mountain a hour east of the triple T.
I spent my early years in the NE and some of the dangerous areas was good training for what was to come later in Chiraq and South LA skid row. Hunts Point in particular and Boston Market to start off.
In my time there was a particular truck that had a flaw when locked, a fist 4 inches above the door and you were in. Thus straps on both doors no one is going to get in. Another flaw was the air intake of the truck cab would be filled with ether. Out you go. They can undress you and rifle everything they want while you are out. Or kill you etc. I never had to worry about that.
Trouble was not too often in my time. There was a potential rapist who chased my spouse into the cab but saw me coming out of the berth with a blade for his neck and ran away. Im sorry I missed the neck, but not so sorry. It's my spouse and she knew better to not park there. I was actually angry at her. I guess it had to happen so that she finally started to be a good student and listen to what I have to teach her from my own history out there. Her first trip into chiraq market south loop did not go well with parasites on my fuel tank all night. It was not a good night but no one got hurt. Or discovered a women inside there. You never know.
Rochester at Guiness wife was enjoying a movie in the bullpen one night resting I was checking the bobtail. Hooker comes up and asked if I wanted a good time, I said you better take off right quick because wife heard you. She did. That required another teaching class to soothe feathers. I don't know what I worry about worse a angry wife or something else.
Sleeping? Ha. That's easy. If society will leave you alone. Just don't try it in Memphis is all.
Oh. One thing. Jersey City. You do not go there. I don't care what your electronic brains and dispatch says for a fuel stop. I hope that place is a pile of rubble by now and no longer a place to get slit.Claysapparel, RedRover, 91B20H8 and 3 others Thank this. -
Pay a crackhead to watch your truck and then tell him the guy 3 spots down has his money but he can't collect until your break is over
TROOPER to TRUCKER and Blackshack46 Thank this. -
A blade duct taped to a thick wooden dowel rod is good for spearing someone trying to get in when you're in the sleeper or jump up on your running boards while stopped at a light. Haven't had to use it yet.

Isnt there a law saying you can't modify or alter a deadly weapon beyond what it's intentions are originally for?
What I think is, its a good idea, the knife taped to the stick.
What I question is, is it legal. One can argue, well if you needed the stick to reach the person, then you were never in any real danger were you.
I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying be careful with that. Killing people and or hurting them can really bite you in the arse. Even in self defense. Using a knife taped to a stick.
