That's a nice setup if your adversary is not bound and determined and in possession of a rock and a box cutter. Point is, either you're safe or your not. All depends on the number you drew for that night. 1 in perhaps 2,000 is going to come up "chance".

A fellow driver has one of them "Captain America" pitbulls in his cab. Intimidating to crackheads.Actually a friendly dog just looks mean.Would probably be mean if a crackhead busted into your truck. This combined with a Glock 357 Sig 10+1 and you might have a chance. No,its not that bad,a little common sense goes a long ways.A driver told me once he arrived at A Home Depot in Tampa Florida early 10pm for next morning delivery, decided to camp out back and take a leak behind his trailer.Meth head snuck up on him with a little cheap looking pistol.Took the cash out of his wallet and ran off like a deer.

You will probably wake up to a breaking window though. Which is what I said. The ratchet is the first line of defense. It will probably fail at some point. That's where the driver steps in and takes control of the situation.

You might can put a knife on a stick, but if they can prove you did it with INTENT to stick someone with it you may be in trouble.

I wouldn't use the straps. What if you need to get out quickly? What if smokey bear knocks? You don't wanna be fumbling around in there these days.

I'm not saying your wrong, but in the event of an emergency, it literally takes two second to release the the tension of a ratchet. If your that paranoid, set a pair of scissors by your head so you can cut the strap and run. And if smokey comes around, he better have a #### good reason for waking me.

I'm not saying it's the only way, but God forbid something happened to me while locked in the truck, someone would have to get creative to get me out.

There's other ways around being safe.

Getting off the road, and going local made me safer and my wife and kids.

I have a dream, to never be too old. But my body keeps calling my dream stupid and far fetched, and unachievable.

    Stupid body.
