How's that make me a rookie?

Perhaps he was talking about Weiner and Schneider.
There are some truck stops with just awful designs where 1 moron can gridlock the whole parkinglot. Or in Laredo, 2 parking lots...the Hook and the TA. For the life of me, I don't understand why neither truckstop has an entrance/exit on the service road. Probably some city ordinance.
"John Candys" ROFL!Chewy352 Thanks this. -
I think it is the driver that 'noses in' that is the lazy one. Just turn the truck around and back in. The parking lot is designed for back-in parking, so the tail of the trailer can hang over the curb and grass---nosing in stops you at your steers, and your truck ends up about 3 feet longer than if you'd have done it the right way.roadrunningx18 and snowlauncher Thank this.

Perhaps they've seen 1 too many trucks get their nose ripped off? Pics get posted here all of the time of somebody forgetting they are pulling a trailer & ruining somebody else's month. The company's trailer will take the hit better than the nose of my tractor, so until it's legal for me to kill the SOB who cut the corner too sharp, I'll be nosing in whenever I feel it may be necessary to protect my truck. Don't like it? Not my concern. You don't get a say in which way I'm facing until YOU are the one who owns the truck I'm driving.

A lot of Petros are made for entire rows to nose in & it works fine if everyone else parks properly.
I don't nose in normally but will do if there is no chance of being blocked in & am parking next to non reefer trucks backed in so they don't hear reefer/apu as much.
Something important in the small & tight truck stops for those that have sliding tandems, after backing in & making sure you have clearance behind you, slide your tandems all the way up so it is easier for those backing next to/across from you.roadrunningx18 Thanks this.
