Grass burner exhaust is still putting out carbon monxide which has no oder. So when you park next to one thats idling all night with his exhaust pointed at your truck you just might wake up dead.

Looks like a great lawsuit for a widowed wife to take to the carrier who owns the truck.

Really Europe switched to weed burner exhaust many years ago, only UK truckers use stacks

yeah and specially if his truck has dpf/scr removed or disabled. APUs are dangerous too
I parked at exit 102 in NM. Few minutes later truck parked next to me and started APU. I was tired and slept quick. Woke up from odor. My truck was not idling. That truck's apu was not smoking badly but odor was shocking . looks like it was burning oil. APU's exhaust was on my truck side and some of exhaust fumes were in my sleeper. 10 minutes later headache started and I was throwing entire day. I did not understand I was poisoned . thanks god still alive.

I'm surprised of how many drivers who posted in this thread seem to be unaware of the carbon monoxide threat from grass burner exhaust. If a grass burner moves in beside me I move. I also keep a carbon monoxide detector in the truck. Over the years many drivers were found dead in they're truck where carbon monoxide was suspected.

I have had the same thing happen while sleeping beside a APU equipped truck, I had to move.

Thank god I got out of the industry before the invasion of the weed burners. They can have it all. Gas too.

This driver is fully aware of the gas threat from weed burners and bad truckstops on bottom low land.

Don't believe me? Purchase a 20 dollar CO detector and try to have it in the bunk any night. See that #### thing scream. 200 ppm etc.

I will keep my stacks. A vintage KW would simply look goofy without them.

You mean U.S.? UK has been using only weed burners for over 20 years, with European close coupled trailers there wouldn't be clearance on the trailer/fridge motor.

Well for those that run their truck 24/7, it can be a big deal. I like the engine off sleep time as it saves me a grip of money and I like the quiet. So weed burner is not that big of a deal. Besides, I rarely park overnight at truck stops. I prefer to take my breaks at customer locations. That is the one of the perks of having a very good customer base that allows that.
