I remember reading in one of these threads where people were talking about a pin on 3rd axle behind the drives. I was wondering if anybody has a pic of that setup and how well it works out. I've never seen anybody running them around here.
The situation I have is a truck that sometimes needs to 3rd axle but most of the time doesn't and I'm not really wanting to lug the axle around when it's not needed. Also add the fact that to install the axle on this particular truck will require moving 3 air tanks and the battery box with really nowhere to go with them.

Somewhere in the forum there were some pics I think. I know there is an outfit from Quebec that runs them.
They had baby tires, like 17.5 on them
Ask @haulhand he looked into it a while back. He might still have the info -
Precision heavy haul has a couple not sure if they're are really any pics out there. There's a company that specializes in them but I can't find their website. They're basically like a pin on trailer axle.

Bellemare out of Trois Rivieres, QC has a few trucks with pin on third axles. They are small tires, 17.5's.
I don't have any pictures, but I'm sure if you google imaged them some will show up.
They are a very large company, so expect a lot of unrelated to HH stuff to show up as wellPipe 40 and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
Didn't @old iron have some pics or info on this awhile back?
johndeere4020 Thanks this. -

I was thinking about a single axle Joe dog to move a crusher around.
Never really looked into a pin on 3rd. It's interesting idea though.johndeere4020 and MJ1657 Thank this. -
I had this in my "interesting stuff" bookmarks from a long time ago- doesn't look too tough to fab one up if a guy wanted to.
