I don't get it the guys in the Auto Hauler forum say guys like me who don't drive semi trucks are NOT auto haulers and say most of us are "psuedo truckers" I have even seen one post saying we are a bunch of backwoods hillbilly wannabe drivers. Seems kind of rough.
Then you have hot shot drivers that say auto haulers like me and other guys with 1 ton trucks are not hot shots because we don't haul freight. Um last time I checked vehicles are considered freight. I understand one definition of a hot shot is transporters that ship critical custom or expedited freight. So I cant be considered a hot shot because some say auto hauling isn't critical or expedited freight.
I disagree because some loads I have both seen and taken called "Hot Loads" have small windows of time between pick-up and delivery. I deliver the units I get usually within 48 hours. Car-Max is known for time sensitive shipments. When a car is sold at one store but it's physically at another, they put a Priority Rush on the order and it needs to be there within a specific time.
So I consider what I am doing is very similar to Hot Shot drivers and agree maybe not like the Auto Hauler guys in the semi's but pretty sure my business like most others would be classified as Hot Shot.
Does anyone agree or disagree?
Please refrain from negative comments and be cool about the conversation ok
Don't get it seems simple enough

Oh Lord the other day I passed some pickup with about a 30 foot (guessing) trailer with steel pipes and all he had holding them in place was wires just a little bit bigger than chicken wires. Sorry I have no sympathy for these trucker wanna bees. You are driving a pick up truck. Not even close to what CDLA drivers do. Personally DOT needs to really watch these guys before they kill someone.

There are a lot of jacka** driving tractor trailers down the road that do not secure their loads correctly either. I talk to a lot of drivers when I stop at a truck stop and I often learn from their mouth to my ears that I make more money per week then they make. So I will be very happy riding down the road in my pickup truck passing those big trucks with the steering wheel holders in them.

It does not matter what size trucks as long you are earning money.
