of course they will. I remember my first gig, they were all nicey nice at first then when they think the hooks set, its a different story. Good Luck !

Pay is usually based on the run, which may be a bid system, more senior guys get the best runs, ect. Some are just given to you from your dm. So your pay only changes when you get a different bid. As for hours, it varies from 8 to 9 hours of driving plus your yard work (drop, hook/loading/ unloading) up to some that will use every second of you clock.Burrito Warrior Thanks this.

They will train you on the doubles and triples. For now, start studying for your hazmat test! If you like running nights, you're a perfect candidate.

Otr drivers get 7$ in hour lol i figured you spend 168 hours multiply by 7 so that's 1200$ gross lmao. You will be lucky to see a 1200$ depends on who you work for.
Toomanybikes and Burrito Warrior Thank this. -
More like $10/hr working 10+ hrs per day for 7 days a week with no time to fully rest and having my sleep schedule messed up horribly because they want me to pick up a load and deliver it the next day. I have been sleeping the day, now I have to sleep at night, then the day. And if I don't comply, they will find ways indirectly to make me accept the load because some salesperson made a bad promise to the client
I've been doing this kind of thing with them for a while and it's not working out so great for me. I need a more consistent work scheduleLast edited: Oct 30, 2016

You could try Swift.
I can usually maintain the hours I prefer to run with the system they have.
Not always, but usually.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this. -
There's an LTL forum here, that's where the linehaul guys are...http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ms/ltl-and-local-delivery-trucking-forum.396/
Since you can relo, choose some of the best companies and see where they have openings. Some of the LTL's are regional so your location makes a difference. If you read up on the LTL forum and post there with your location, you might get a good match.
When you have a break, look into SAIA, Old Dominion, UPS Freight, Fedex Freight, and Estes for starters.Burrito Warrior Thanks this. -
I'll pass on Swift. I don't trust them
Lucy in the Sky, Rusty Trawler, alghazi and 3 others Thank this. -
I know LTL is less than load but what's it about? Why is it called LTL? What's the difference between LTL and linehaul?
