I self certified at my local DPS office. Even got a new license with my current address on it made.
Everything is kosher because I recently got a Level 3 inspection. Figured if my CDL was downgraded I'd still be sitting at the Mississippi weigh station just north of the Louisiana line on I55.

We had a driver put OOS in Tennessee because the computer showed his license was suspended for an unpaid traffic citation, one he paid and had proof it was paid off. When he got home, the DPS computers showed his CDL was in fact, intact, not suspended. So the company hired a lawyer to fight the suspension citation. Somehow the database got incorrect information about his license status. No clue if it was the fault of Tennessee or Texas.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I was freed from my out of service status today. I left out of the coop at 5:55 on 5/16/2016!!! Whoop Whoop!
What a friggen nightmare! Took greyhound from Lamar to Amarillo at $116.00 round trip left at 12:20 arrived at 5:40 am. Taxi to DPS arrived 8:00 am. At 8:45 I was told I had a failure to appear in Kimble County (Junction Texas) in 2002. AAAAAHHHHHH! Paid $144.00 fine. My state Rep Lois Klocker and her wonderful assistant Sheryl pulled some strings and got my payment update expedited in the computer system. Arrived back port and plains truckstop at 6:45. Showered ate napped was ready to return back to Amarillo $116 roundtrip again. Nodded off waiting for the bus and missed my bus AHHHHHHHH!!!
When I bought my ticket on my phone I reserved my ticket for the 6th. Which I though was Wednesday. It was a MONTH AGO! I Forgot to take April off my dash calendar. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!
They couldn't change the date on my ticket because there was a glitch on their computer. AAAHHHHHHH!
Luckily the driver was Jason who use to drive OTR and understood my situation. Arrived this morning at DPS at 7:45. During the process I was told I had 2 drivers license on file. And my hazmat endorsemet was not showing up. AAAAAAHHHH! FINALLY I had a single drivers license with hazmat tanker endorsement. Back in Lamar by 5:00 sitting in Bennett Colorado right now so happy to have made it through this. I was amazed at how many drivers had the same experience. My boss who is new to the biz had a conversation with somebody while in line somewhere. He related my experience to him and that driver said it happened to him. But in California. He had to fly back to Illinois.
So word to the wise. MAKE SURE YOUR MEDICAL CARD IS SENT IN AND DOCUMENTED. -
I have submitted my renewed medical card to Texas twice. The second time I got someone on the phone who verbally verified that it was received and was updated. There is no written confirmation that it was taken care of.
Today, 5 months later, I got a letter at home saying my CDL has been downgraded.
I have been trying to reach someone all day. It's nearly impossible reach a live person at the DPS in Texas.
I'm out here working. I've only been home twice this year. WTF am I supposed to do? I just found out my CDL has been downgraded!
I'm freaking out. -

I know this is an old old thread but almost al DMV's you can log in on their website and look at your license. It will show what class your license is plus all endorsements.
