One problem may be going from an 09 to an older rig. I have owned my 85 for 20 years, the 86 I was 11 when it was bought brand new and brought home. Though it's been in my name and insured by me for 8 years. I can't say that's the issue I'm just thinking out loud since it seems you have the experience and a good score

It is nice that's why today, since it's raining, I'm driving the International.
If I knew how to put them on here I would. I will try.rank and Dye Guardian Thank this. -
RJ. How are you looking for insurance? If you are looking online stop now. Go find an agent, or insurance broker. He will represent many different companies and it should be a piece of cake. Half the problems I see on this site would be solved if guys would look for information in the correct manner.

What a load of BS.....while various carriers have "age of power unit" criteria, it is just a factor in pricing....and sometimes "acceptance". Older units DO have more OOS equipment/maintenance issues....we have the stats to back it......but as a carrier (A++/XV) we routinely cover older units. Ironically in that regard, one of the carriers in our Group of carriers actually debits the liability on 0-3 year old power units because they feel those units will get more miles on them (trying to pay for them) annually than a 6 year old power unit......so to say that there are problems "placing" coverage on a 98 379 is ridiculous.
Interesting side light to this is that we have noticed the values for phys dam have increased in CA over the rest of the country as CARB tries to enforce clean idle etc.....the newer units required to be compliant have ran the average phys dam value $ 20,000 or so higher than other states -
I started receiving email and letters from my current agent over six months ago regarding ELD mandate, they want me to be in compliance by December 1st of 2017.My thinking with all this is that I was not planning on keeping my 09 International anymore. i've owned the truck for a few years now,and is not wise to keep this VGT, EGR, Aftertreatment ,DPF nightmare I spend a lot of time and money just keeping it alive .
So went and bought a 98 378
Rebuilt the engine by my self put a new trans an clutch ,new tire and brakes and the truck is at the shop getting a new APU ,This truck is twice as nice as my International and now im encountering this headache.
I dont care about CA and I prefer paper logs over FMCSA scrutinyrank and ramblingman Thank this.
