where did the citation for over weight occur?

    scale or roadside?
Did you get a long yellow form that required signature?
If yes, what court and location does it state.

In cali, this will not be a moving violation, so no points to license. you say it also included an inspection, does it show the weight violation in the comm nts section? If so, then this will have CSA points with it.

at 3900 lbs, fines and fees are going run about $1000 USD.
be glad it was less than 4500 lbs. 4501 it moves to a misdemeanor instead of an infraction. Fines and fees get real steep then.

Now here is one thing that could save some bacon.
If they wrote the citation for the wrong thing, you could get it tossed on the technicality. Need a lawyer to take that on.

The 6th largest economy I'm the world?????
Oh because of the ports. If rest of America didn't import and export thru California the numbers would be much different.
Wait and see the numbers change when the Importers start sending the container ships around to the east coast.

Regardless of who pays the ticket.

Be sure to follow-up and make SURE it got paid.

Believe me, they will find you, eventually.

    Good Luck

Huh? Just picked up a live load Sunday night from an office building in San Diego. It was a live load going to Tucson paying $1500

Guy asked me if I could come back to get the second load but I had other things going on so I couldn't return.

They couldn't get another truck in there until Tuesday night no trucks available.

Sort of true. Back under the original incarnation of CSA, when it had a cargo component, overweight was part of the list. As the program was changed and cargo basic was turned into the hazmat basic, overweight was now under the "other" catagory. usually as failure to follow state or fed law.
Using the catch all portion of the program. points are lower in some cases here than others but it still gets points.

Know how to load your truck. When you pick up a load going to CA put your tandems at 40' or the 5th hole. Ask loader how heavy each pallet and how many pallets. If you know it will be heavy, try to go in there with 1/2 fuel or less. You should be able to gauge roughly where your weight will be.

Overweight tickets are not tracked. Period.

CSA Categories: Unsafe Driving, Crash, HOS, Vehicle Maintenance, Controlled Substances & Alcohol, Hazmat Compliance, Driver Fitness, & Insurance which right now has N/A on the reports.
