ABF all the way too. They do have nice equipment though.
New bid run I'm on now has me bumping docks with all the major LTL carriers on the first half of my run. I see the same ABF driver on one of my stops. Tractor looks new and SPOTLESS. Nice guy and seems REALLY happy over at ABF. All the NEMF guys that I've seen drive some shotty equipment. Almost as bad as ours...lol.

How about another Teamster option? Grocery Haulers pulling Stroehman bread or Entenmans trailers. Home daily. 100 percent company paid benefits. Yards around Long Island and NYCPintlehook and Sho Nuff Thank this.

City wage tax in Philly is around 6% for residents or outsiders working in Philly. But what a lot of people don't know is that if you're a nonresident working in Philly, but you spend 90% of the time outside of Philly, the wage tax drops down to about 1%. Don't know if the same thing applies in NYC.JPenn Thanks this.

I forget the rate for NY, varies on income and filing status, among other things. It doesn't drop unless you neither reside nor work in NYC.Sho Nuff Thanks this.

I worked in Philly in the past and always assumed that city wage tax was just part of working in Philly. Only when anouther trucker told me that it drops to 1% IF you spend 90% of the time outside of Philly. I tried calling city hall if I could get my money back, and their response was "good luck on that".
I would imagine NYC is above 6%. Your cost of living is RIDICULOUSLY high.
