Your correct. The problems stem from the constant break downs on the truck. Keep rolling over week after week on repair after another and never being able to not have some kind of break down. And swift not letting you get out of that truck. Your stuck.

Not to come across as rude or ignorant but in six years you don't have any money set aside for breakdown or maintenance?

I have a feeling he did once upon a time. A bad truck series of breakdown could have hollowed him out.

Not when you have catistrofic engine failure.. yams your truck is just out of its warranty... 21000 to fix the engine and they are taking 1000 a week if I do a roll over loan if they pay for the engine.. idk about u but I don't have that kind of money lieing around. And if you do your a better man than me

That's what happened and of course right after the warranty expired... really sucky situation.. so I get it it looks like I didn't run my business right, all I wanted to do is own this truck.. and it seemed once the warranty was gone so was all my dreams and it keep rolling over week after week and I couldn't get out of it... and swift and rapid response would not help. Except for this loan for 1000 a week to pay back... I've had problems with this truck since I got it and have struggled at times yes. But I was always able to work thru it.. this... this was to much to bare

    Really????
They offer to front you 21k in cash because you had trouble with your truck and they are not giving any help. Ok....
I guess some people just expect everything to be given to them no matter how insane the idea is.

So you are paying the $1000 repair fee and your lease payments?

When I bought my 41K rig they insisted I sign a paper deducting 14% roughly against revenue for up to 30,000 set aside specifically for a catastropic engine failure in the future that was at the time assessed as a number one cause of owner operator type failures in Business that liquidates everything if the money isnt saved. (OR the engine taken care of etc.) No body answered the question as to how I get that 30K back when the rig is paid for in full. That was one of the things I was working to nail down that week and ran into resistance.

Part of me is glad I stayed a company hack, another part of me is driven or motivated by what might be if I was a fleet owner back then. But's it's not all lost, yet. There is still the future even today.

I read with sadness the large costs that might decide that you have to go out of business. What about this idea? Instead of enduring 30 to 50K in charges to resusticate your engine that probably will need writing off... why not see if there is a tractor like yours sitting unwanted by anyone at a orphan yard pending junking or recycling? Pick it up for 2000 dollars and harvest the engine out of it, provided that it's a match for the one you have... OR... daring to scrap the blown up tractor and lease or buy for less than 30,000 cost of engine work a good tractor to run you down the road.

I distinctly recall two specific Petes I took across the Auction block myself in Adesa at little rock, I did not let any other temp drive these due to the care and quality that was very evident by the previous owner. 600 CAT, 18 speeds, jakes this big at each cylinder and fuel filters capable of squeaking out dino farts from the fuel that needed 10 million years to marinate in the ground.

Both as a set sold 30K each. I needed about 3 weeks before my heart quit hurting for myself, particuly because I was too poor to buy the #### things myself and hire drivers and a shop for them. Once in a life time of a trucker you are allowed to briefly witness greatness and the glory of American by god engineering. But not to alas own same.

I've read owner operators and lease drivers that have to need at least 10k aside free and clean just saved up.
