This summer my company gave me a brand new cascadia, i took my working 29lx from my t600 and ut it in, and the factory internal anteanna sucks, it had no range, so i got tired of it went external a few weeks ago
Went with a d/s mirror bird perch, clamp bracket, ran a new antenna wire to it, no pinching.
soon as i did it i got a really high swr and a warning. tried another guys anteanna from his truck and it worked(later realized it was the stud that was fixing that issue)
last weekend i bought a bigger anteanna and a new stainless steel stud, radio worked fine when i was at the jacksonville ta. swr just under 1.5, clear audio and good signal.
by the time i got up to gainesville i was getting the warning again, but this time instead of not sending or recieving, i can hear people once in a while, i just get a warning when i key up.
i had the guy bench test the radio and there was nothing wrong with it
its a brand new antenna wire
2 different studs both SS
2 different antennas(3 foot firestick, 6ft firestick)
anyone have any ideas? im smashing my head into my window at this point
CB antenna warning driving me up a wall

You're not alone. Go thru Cascadia antenna solutions maybe one will work for you.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Check the mount again to see if it became loose.

Did you go through any rain?
I'm trying to figure out what could have changed. -
New coax doesn't always equal good coax. Wilson seems to be having some quality control issues. Did you check everything with an ohmeter?
rabbiporkchop and bored silly Thank this. -
that bird perch deal option is the worst available on a crapcadia a stainless steel mirror bracket is a better option... experiment with different coax length 9-12-15-18 ft. if possible... have a mfj or rig expert check your swrs. don't put much faith in any reading that radio swr meter shows you.

I'll look for a different bracket mount. haven't had a shop come out and look because I haven't been past one yet -
rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

ok. ditched the bird perch screw in and got a 2 post mount, used a known good HD ss stud, and a known good 4ft tunable tip antenna. ch40 shows swr 2.2 same for 01. passes antenna self test (did not do this before) but now fails rf output keying the mic. but engine on is different, shows swr 2.8 on 01, 3.2 on 40 and antenna warning again
