Your vehicle speed sensor will be mounted on top of the transmission tail shaft, but I don't see how that would prevent the truck from starting. Let me see if I can find a wiring diagram for that particular truck.

It shows a fuel shut off solenoid on the side of the engine but no fuel lines or anything to it

Unscrew and remove the solenoid. If it is the solenoid, she should fire right up.

Check that the wires to the solenoid to make sure they are clean and secure
