I'm not saying it's back breaking but I will say I'm dropping and hooking all day along with strapping empty racks and full I strap before I leave and then again when I get there the route is only about 30 miles so your in and out all day it's def a tuff job and 60 plus hrs a week for about 625 check after tax is straight horse #### for any cdl job. Im currently looking into another company that pays by the load doing the exact same job

Another thing is being asked all day to run straight illegal trailers that would never in a million pass a dot inspection and if you say something your told to deal with it or find another job. I hate to sound like someone complaining but if you seen these old trailers most of you would not think about driving them. Owell the plus side to this is all the backing experience I gained we put that joker in tight spots all day I feel ten times more confident in my driving then I did starting out so where ever my next move takes me I know I can get the job done safe I feel good about that.

We flat rate our day drivers at a very fair rate. Some days are longer than others, but every driver walks in knowning to expect 10-12 hours. Sometimes it'll be less and that works in the driver's favor, sometimes it'll be more and that works in our favor. We enjoy virtually no turnover in our local day pay driver base.
bamalife123 Thanks this.
