In most States you can have a Misdemeanor dismissed if you have completed Probation and do not have any pending cases open.KillingTime and Road Killer Thank this.

May depend on what it is
Road Killer Thanks this. -
I think it depends on a couple things:
1. Are you going to lease on to a motor carrier?
2. Are you going to run your own authority?
If # 1, you should consult your motor carrier's policy on criminal convictions as their policies may vary.
If your recent conviction was for, say, theft from an employer, you may have a harder time convincing someone to lease you on. If you have something like illegal dumping, whole different story.
If you are running your own numbers, none of this matters because you are employing yourself.Pete jockey Thanks this. -
I wouldn't hire you. If you are too lazy to get an actual Felony, then you are too lazy to work for me. Call me once you have a felony or two under your belt.
dngrous_dime, Chinatown, TROOPER to TRUCKER and 6 others Thank this. -
That why my 4 year old Criminal Mischief doesn't show up on background checks?
I still make it known... Just in case it does. I should prob get a copy to see if I'm in the clear. -
The purpose of having it Dismissed or Expunged is so you don't have to disclose it on a Employment Application, also it will no longer show up on a Private Sector Employment Background Check.
The only time you have to disclose it is when you are applying for a job in a Government Sector, as they can access more in depth checks of your Background.Last edited: Nov 18, 2016
