They can call and ask. But many companies are dying for a loyal, reliable guy. So, if you say why you were let go and they ask you about it explain that it was a mistake and you won't let it happen again. Delays happen and any company that doesn't understand that and makes you go over your hours on purpose or fires you for a mistake is not a company you wanna stick with very long.

It won't show on your CSA so you are good there. I can't believe a company would fire you for such a stupid and simple thing... I mean, there's no way even an deep DOT audit would catch that error unless someone actually said something. Anyway, be honest about it in case someone mentions it to your new company, but in this day and age of driver shortages I doubt anyone will give 2 hoots.

Really, silliest #### thing I've read on here in a long time. Lol

I had an HOS oos violation a few years back and I found out later that the company I was leased to was red flagged at the dot houses..so I left that company and btw said company was a Canadian one trying to weasel it's way into 'merica.

A company does not get rid of a good driver for one HOS violation. Retraining maybe. There is more to this than has been explained.

I was thinking the same thing. If a guy has been driving for 9 years and can't figure out how to work his HOS to get his stops in or freaks out about "fitting in" his 30 min break, there is a bigger issue going on. Sounds like a dilemma a newb would have.

I agree, sounds like the HOS was the excuse used, but not the reason for the firing.

It won't show up on your CSA because you don't have one. Where's that dead horse? It needs a beating.

Let's see. You worked through your thirty minute break. There's probably a company or seven hundred that would hire you.

    My question exactly.

I want to know what the hell kind of crap outfit would fire a driver for this, as if there aren't millions of others who haven't done exactly the same thing.
