It varies. Depends on the equipment, the coverage, your age, driving history, and how new your MC is. I've heard of guys would had to sell their truck and become a company driver for 2 years because they were getting 20-30k a year quotes.

Ye I may have to. Looking for companies around Florida so I can get decent home time.

With Florida freight you'd be likely to lose money any time you wanted to go home as an O/O. Florida is flooded with drivers nonetheless.

I do a lot of shipments into Florida and pay drivers about 1.90-2 bucks a mile. Do you mean when I come out?

A stepdeck is about 36" deck height depending on the exact model. No airbags are going to raise it all the way up to a standard ~50" dock. That said, modern power dock plates will go low enough to work with a stepdeck, we do it quite often. But certainly not an old manual dock plate.Luwi67 Thanks this.

It can be done. There's a member on here, I forgot his name, that says he does that with his stepdeck to pick up equipment.
