It varies. Depends on the equipment, the coverage, your age, driving history, and how new your MC is. I've heard of guys would had to sell their truck and become a company driver for 2 years because they were getting 20-30k a year quotes.

Here is my take... Make all your rookie mistakes under someone else's authority before going out on your own.

With Florida freight you'd be likely to lose money any time you wanted to go home as an O/O. Florida is flooded with drivers nonetheless.

I do a lot of shipments into Florida and pay drivers about 1.90-2 bucks a mile. Do you mean when I come out?

A stepdeck is about 36" deck height depending on the exact model. No airbags are going to raise it all the way up to a standard ~50" dock. That said, modern power dock plates will go low enough to work with a stepdeck, we do it quite often. But certainly not an old manual dock plate.

    Luwi67 Thanks this.

It can be done. There's a member on here, I forgot his name, that says he does that with his stepdeck to pick up equipment.
