Can any one tell me any thing about this company. I have been an OTR driver for the last 10 years. And due to my 3 year olds recent diagnosis with Autism. My 10 years will be soon ending. I got a resonable offer with this company to pull containers for them out of Savannah. Home every night and off weekends. Just wanta know if they are worth giving a try.

i pull for road link in savannah. what i know about TCW is they run nothing but day cab petes and the folks i have talked to seem to be split on wheather they like it or hate it not sure how much they pay. i have heard good things about howard sheppard trucking in sav they are a drayage co, also. from what i hear howard pays a precentage of the load.

Most of the guys in Memphis seem happy enough. we used to share a yard with them. they will have layoffs when it slows down.
-
From what I hear they are nice up here, my ex's father works at one up near Nashville and said a lot of the people are friendly and understand if situations come up.

I am considering going to work for these guys in Birmingham Al ... Anyone from that area

i WAS AN O/O WITH THEM FROM 1998-2000. They treated me like a red-headed stepchild. They will deduct tires from your paycheck, even though its the yard's fault. chassis are junk and are constantly having flats and light problems. Overweight is always a problem. Long wait to check in and out of port/rr/dropyards. Just one big headache after another. Company drivers get paid on performance. All the sudden you get a pay cut.. Strongly advise against pulling containers for anyone.

I sure hope they are paying you by the hour! I did container work for about 6 months before I decided that hourly pay was better than mileage in that racket!
Yes, you'll sure rack up the miles driving all over ports and rail yards because the union guys can't figure how to write the correct slot number on the paperwork on the location the container so all you non union drivers have to work your arses looking for that container you need!
Way to much non paying time wasted in ports and yards! NOT to mention the hits on your paycheck for those black things that might hold air long enough to make it back to the yard before either blowing out completely or leaking slow enough that it's completely off the rim and thus not usable! The sure think those POS tires are high dollar!
That's not to mention that no one writes up repair orders for the chassis! You can spend a few hours just looking for one that's road worthy! Then the line to go through the inspection bays and the looks given you when you hand them a arm long list of what needs to be fixed on their trash called chassis!
Good luck BUT read every piece of paper they hand you to sign!
DO NOT JUST SIGN THEM!
Have a tire gauge, and air hose and always before pulling into a rail yard or port be sure every tire has air and the lights and brakes work! It's called CYA! Cover your arse! They WILL charge you for a tire anyway they can! -

I'm out the door with this company. They used to treat you fair, with discretion and understanding. But last month I found a different company that gets me home everynight, easy unloads, offers at least $4k more a year, doesn't use chassis and or charge you for flats, AND has a benefit program that actually encourages you to advance beyond holding a steering wheel. My perspective employer contacted this employer to verify employment, and since I've been sitting idle at home for 4 days straight with no work, while others have been busy. Fair? Absolutely not. But according to the NC Dept of Labor, I have no recourse other than to move onto my future job. Work for them? I wouldn't...

My opinion I think if you want to run a trucking company you need to buy your own tires cause if the drivers wanted to by tires they would have bought their own truck,OK!
