Stan, I didnt mean to to come across as dissing you or slamming you. I respect you, I follow you and read about everything you say. I didnt say I, or they were right, I just said someone has to pay for progress, usually the end user, The programmers are very far removed from the real world. Unfortunately electronic progress is only going forward, it will never go backwards. Technology is a double edged sword, quicker, easier, but takes all the personality outta life. Now that English as a second or third language is no longer a requirement in car hauling, I am going back to hauling gravel or hauling in the patch somewhere that uses actual english as a language because you have to communicate with someone on the radio. My car hauling days have mostly been in Spanish or ???? Sorry, I moved from Holland to Canada to the states, I had to and have learned to fluently speak sarcasm and English. If you met me, you would never know I was from other countries. I married a wonderful woman now a Air Force Master Sargent, trust me, no accent around her people....I am excited to go back to the patch hauling crude and speaking english. Wont miss all the dealers saying it had this scratch or dent even if my before pics showed it or my after pics showed nothing. As I write this, i know if the patch slows down i will probably go back to hauling cars, but auction cars this time. Again Stan, no offense eh?
Anyone else think this is getting a little ridiculous???

Hey were're good, I was just pissed off, seems that every time I turn around lately somebody else has their hand deeper in my pocket and it is starting to get annoying!
I think what is really bothering me (and I sat and thought about this last night) is that although I have been in this segment for a long time, and have been lucky enough to weather several storms, I was always sure there was a bright side around the corner.
As I type this, I'm just not so sure that auto haul, at least as I have known it, will ever recover, and that really bothers me, probably more than it should?
Good luck in the patch CRN, at this point it has to be better than auto haul!!!Ziggy319, passingthru69, VTech and 1 other person Thank this. -
What's the increase for again? Improved what?

The price increase goes into effect Nov 15th.
However the wording for price increase of $20 per month is telling
that they are charging different rates to different people.
Remember when you could pay it quarterly? Think it was
under $120 for 3 months back a couple yrs ago.Dorsey, Terry270 and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
I am trying to remember what I paid way back when they started, I "think" it was 19.95 pm? -
So where do you go for loads now?
-
It's gotten worse since they were bought out. They will continue to raise the price as long as people keep paying it. Greed.

Dorsey my man, where the hell have you been and what have you been up too????

When I was hauling cars I would also get frustrated with the increase in the price of central dispatch. But then I would think of what other businesses spend on advertising in order to grow their business. For example the owner of the independent auto repair shop I used to manage spent over $20,000 a year in adverting between his three shops. That always made me not feel so bad about paying central $120 a month, or what ever it was at the time, knowing I did not have to spend tons of money on advertising. I know its frustrating but most businesses have it much worse.

Although I can agree with your premise about outside advertising being far more expensive, the comparison really isnt fair. First off CD has a captured audience, there is no other place to go with that volume of freight if you are in AH, secondly, you really aren't advertising? (unless you are a broker posting a load) you are providing someone an available service, just seems different in my mind.
