Drug testing

It cracks me up. So many idiots out there. "Oh, now that pot is legal in California can I smoke?". Flipping bird brains don't even know that commercial driving is regulated by the Feds and pot is illegal on a federal level.

Also even though proposition 64 passed the sale and subsequent taxation of recreational marijuana will not go into effect until January 1, 2018.

 

It's an interesting situation that has been created. Obama basically authorized/instructed the federal law enforcement to not enforce laws in states that have legalized it and regulated it. This is not the same thing as legalizing it. Technically everyone involved in the pot trade are committing major felonies. Even those just smoking it are committing federal crimes.

I don't think it's likely, but unless Congress acts to legalize it a new President could have the DEA arrest tens of thousands of people for production and distribution, and possibly millions for possession.

Likely? No. More likely is a future President (Trump or not) giving a grace period but arresting anyone who doesn't shut down the operations within a short period of time.
