So, Monday I went to a company to fill out the remaining paperwork. As I am doing this theres one that has charges to the driver. Now this is for a company driver position.
1. They charge $1.35 for unauthorized out of route miles.
2. They want a $600 deposit for the truck in case you turn it in dirty.
3. If you get a speeding ticket not only does the driver pay that. ( which is fine ) the company also charges the driver $300.
4. They charge you if you dont give them 2 weeks notice if you quit.
There were a few more things I don't recall at the moment. But in the end I declined the job. Just didnt feel like I was a good fit at this company. Im not willing to agree to these things. This was with a smaller trucking outfit.
Does this sound fair????

Sounds fair to me, if I want to be in debt to the company from day 1.

Really the charges seem fair except the out of route. Just that one would have me gone.

It is actually more common than you would think, but I would have declined as well
