Can't you just take an extended unpaid leave of absence instead of quitting? I think that the fact that you quit every 3 months will hurt you more than the tickets.

Or you know, the road is not designed for the weight of trucks, so it costs actual money to fix the road after enough trucks tear it to crap. That could not possibly be the reason though, it's always evil government....
Grow up. You were on a restricted route because you failed to do your job (trip plan) and now you rage quitted your job to show just how immature you really are.
Once you grow up, learn to do your job, and then realize you will be fine for when you can start looking for another company. This will happen again until you start doing your job (trip planning, weighing the load, etc..)
Now the three month and quitting is what will hurt you, not any of the two tickets you admired to.Blackshack46, TripleSix, ramblingman and 5 others Thank this. -
You are correct, but you need not condescend to me.Last edited: Nov 28, 2016

Did you take us 20 from I 5 and miss the left turn?
-
The US 20 is not a truck route heading towards the I5 if I remember correctly.
I followed the coast down from Portland. When I was heading out of the plant, I followed the truck arrow signs.
If I ever get back that way, I will remember the place. Life goes on and I thought I was home free, another incident free delivery.
A learning experience and that is why I posted it here. Of course I might not be able to drive for Melton, but hey life goes on. -
I got a ticket like that in ga. I wrote a note to the court asking for them not to put it on my dmv record because i have a clean record and it would be detrimental to my career. i showed up for court and pleaded no contest and paid the fine. the judge saw my letter and agreed not to put it on mvr. always get a court date dont just pay the ticket.

I've been to that plant. Took a 10 there, waiting for my trailer to be loaded. A short walk away I had the best ribeye I have ever had.
As others have noted, trip planning before getting to or from a customer is absolutely critical. I always use Google Satellite View and Street View before going to a new location. I sometimes "drive" the route in Street View so it seems like I have already been there by the time I get to the turns.
I'm also in the camp that doesn't understand the logic of quitting because you wanted to get back at the town of Toledo. That doesn't make sense to me at all. You will have absolutely no impact on the town and your propensity to quit in the face of adverse conditions can become a habit. Don't get into that habit.Blackshack46, bentstrider83, dptrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I went to that place when I first started driving 8 years ago. The company truck had Qualcomm installed.
Once I got within 20 miles the stupid Qualcomm started going off every 5 minutes with a warning about the hwy 20 restriction!
I had to take my 10 there too. There was no way to turn the volume down on the Qualcomm, so, it kept going off with the warning. I got sick of it and hung the unit out the window and rolled it up, LOL.witch_hazel, Big Don and Lepton1 Thank this. -
Down in Fla there is a road that I use to cut through to where I park my truck at a cement plant. The road is posted with no trucks over 10 tons. I'd been doing it anyway for years. Finally got caught by a state trooper.
Hired a local attorney for $300,.. case dismissed. I still cut through the same road when I am home. Chalk it up to cost of business.
Dont pay the fine. Hire an attorney and take it to court. Doubtful you will even have to show up. All they want is money. Fight any and all traffic violations no matter the reason,. guilty or not guilty.
