The backing might be nothing. There is one stop we have and I do not normally do it, it's very hard and difficult, it's a goofy S back and it's no fun, that one I usually lose my nerve on and have a hard time hitting the dock usually truthfully I don't hit the dock at that stop, but that's not my stop anyhow, and it's not really on my route so I forget about it.
Some of our down town stops are hard, but ehh your working nights, your not going to have the traffic or the rest of the mallarchy, it's probably not a bad deal, just because nobody took it doesn't really mean any thing it really doesn't. Most of the guys with some seniority probably have stuff Taylor made to how they want it which is usually the case which is why this route that you were offered is up for grabs. It doesn't necessarily mean the stops are hard or impossible.
There are senior guys where I work that have hard stops, so that doesn't always mean things.
A hard stop doesn't mean it's hard to back the truck into. I have a couple hard stops that do not require much or a ton of backing at all it's getting the truck unloaded building pallets taking the pallet somewhere and then double handling the stuff.Sho Nuff Thanks this. -
Ok guys so heres the update...I walk into the office and ask the transpo manager if he still needs somebody for that shift. He said, "Na I think we're gonna go with xxxx xxxxxx". He then turns to the other office guy and says this is the one who wanted to drive the night shift. So the other office guy (not sure of the title) said "How much experience you got?" I said, "not much, just driving school". He said they would try to get me some practice backing can't hurt to have a backup driver ect. So I guess its back to the handtruck and stacks of boxes. Thanks for the advice guys hopefully the next one comes up I'll be the go to guy
Mike2633 and street beater Thank this. -
