SNI sounds like they have a good training program. I almost went with them. You will only know once you do it.
I do understand what you are saying about the thinking something is stinking at Prime. I'm lucky I do have a few friends with them so what I am hearing is NOT just from the boards.
Good luck to you!
Prime INC.

From what I have heard snidey does have a very good training program. Most seem to do their time then move on too a better paying, better hometime co. They tend to be a stepping stone to a better job. If you can ride it out they might be a good move.
-
You have some friends at Prime. Well, what are they saying?
-
They are happy..However, I still want to get a better feel for what others are saying about them. I tend to look quite a bit BEFORE I leap anywhere. That has served me well...
-
If you trust their judgment you've got a decent start.
-
The 4 - 6 Weeks at SNI before going solo compared to 3 - 4 months at Prime is the reason why you see more SNI boo boo's with new drivers than you do with PRIME.
-
You my be right. It may also be that SNI is many many times bigger than Prime, that you see so many boo boo's.
-
Regardless of the size of any company , it is better to get the EXPERIENCE that so many NEW drivers are lacking before throwing them out by themselves.
SNI and SWIFT might be the big boys in the trucking game but most of their Non Experienced hirees are just seat fillers , most do not last past a few months so they do not put a lot of effort into the mentoring side.
I suppose Prime also has quite a few decide its not the job they want or thought it was during the mentoring time as well.
Over the years I have seen a lot of 6 week wonders
( from quite a few companies ) wishing
they had more on the road training / experience with a trainer , but seems everyones so hot to trot in getting into their own truck ( usually a junker )
-
Do you drive for Prime?
-
I'm going to throw this out there..Not to be offensive to you or try to start a p*ssing contest with you..So please take it in the friendly way it is meant.
I believe what Flatbed and I have tried to say is MORE time with a trainer (mentor)is NOT a bad thing...The more time you spend with them the better off you will be.
Honestly, had I known of Primes training I would have gone in that direction I believe. Remember, you are talking about the START of your career. After time you will probably be leaving your first company. We're NOT talking years here but in all honesty we could be talking about lives! Not just yours either..Thats a lot of responsibility
