No, you don't need perfect credit, but you do need good credit, the better the credit, the less they will require you to put down, here's a bit more advise, if you got crap credit, I'd put becoming a O/O off for a bit longer, work on your credit, once you achieve this then look at becoming a independent op, owning a truck takes more than just a truck paymentBrandonpdx Thanks this.

They have a better lease deal than most companies. Yes you are going to pay a little more for your truck but if you can't greet approved or buy one yourself then your out of luck. I'm planning on leasing one through the company I work for just to make sure I can cut it as a owner op first. Before I further screw up my credit.

Guy at work has one sitting in his shop. He leased it for 6 months and gave up. He told them to come get it. They said they have so many trucks they don't have anywhere to park it. Called them in the beginning of August. Still at his house today. They have not even called him about it.
It's a 2016 with two leasers so far.Last edited: Nov 6, 2016

Why does lone mountain sell trucks that only have 200k - 300k miles on it but only 2012.13?
I thought maybe a dedicated company were using the trucks until warranty went out then sold fleet.
4000 dwn 1400 month 270k miles cummins isx freightliner.. Dont look too bad.
What do you think?
I will be using it at landstar.
Thanks in advance -
Thoroughly check maintenance records.

That's what company today do. They run the trucks until the engine/aftertreatment warranty is out and then trade them in. Most companies buy the extended warranties that go to 450-500k these days, but some don't. These companies have crunched the numbers and figured out that out-of-warranty emissions trucks are money wasters. How much money do you have to waste? This has nothing to do with Lone Mountain, it's simply the way the trucks are built today.thodges Thanks this.

So would you say a truck with 270k miles is worth buying (with extended warrenty) is worth it. Low miles is less ware n tear. The deal is 4k down 1400 mth about $55k. Of course id want a warranty...but low miles especially 200 300's. Your input is much appreciated.

Sounds like a lease return. My company does 3 year leases from Ryder and they end up with about that kind of mileage when they go back. You just need maintenance docs and a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Could be a good truck driven by a careful driver or it could have been beat to crap. Who knows!

Only if the extended warranty is from the manufacturer of the truck or engine. They are purchased when the truck is new. Aftermarket warranties are typically junk and not worth the paper they are printed on.77fib77 and ChicagoJohn Thank this.
