At the beginning and end of the school day, there's almost always a cop looking to generate revenue by sitting right by one of the schools looking for someone doing something stupid. We had a cop sitting in the school's parking lot (he thought he was hidden) usually 3/5 days/week. It was nice pulling out of the school and choosing one way or another. Heading toward home, I didn't go through town so I could haul ###. Taking a left took you through town, so I could do a whole 25MPH. I personally don't care for the cops too much. If they were there for our safety, there wouldn't be a fine involved with speeding--it'd simply be a system where if you're caught 3 times, you lose your license for 1 or 2 years. Along with each citation, you'd enjoy higher insurance rates. But instead, the states treat it as a tax, going after the money instead of the dangerous drivers.

Westbound Rte. 30 just outside Mansfield. Cop does a u-ey as I go past. pulls me over. " I see you were doing, 59 in a 55 back there, no big deal, BUT! you weren't wearing a seatbelt. I am going to issue you a citation for that" of course he wanted to know why I didn't have it on, was it broke? ( 'cas we can sure have my buddy the d.o.t. come check it out) No, just forgot it when I pulled out of the rest area at 71, and 30. Oh well! 82.00$ please, and have a good day. my advice, wear your seatbelt and don't go over 60. The one and only ticket I've ever got in that state.

Yeah, they're good for that one around here. They busted me in my four wheeler about 7 or 8 years ago on that. I was actually doing 15 over the posted limit but he says to me "I don't really want to write you a speeding ticket, so how about I write you one for that seatbelt instead?" It was Labor Day weekend and they were doing their campaign, so I helped their stats out, I guess.

The last four or five years I drove before retiring, I drove a lot in Ohio. I'd just set the cruise at 60 and never had a problem.

I'd go by the bear in the middle and he never looked at me. Some drivers have told me that you can get by with 62 in Ohio but I wasn't going to find out.
