If 75 dollars breaks you when it's all gone, Trucking can burn that in few hours when you consider lumpers for a trailer load unloading is 300 to 500 dollars cash these days.

No one is laughing. A man lives and dies by his tools. =) I would be the same. Hell Ive got a few bins worth of tools I don't use but hang on to out of sheer stubbornness. Had a chainsaw that I finally sold off for a good price. I sometimes regret selling that thing, especially when you consider how rare it is to find one with a bulletproof motor that can eat 8 foot oak trees.

Lumpers are almost always paid by the company using EFS or Comchecks etc. Same goes for repairs on the road, no money out of the driver's pocket at all.

I have stuck a repair on a personal CC, but that was my own choice as the payment system at the repair shop was screwing up and I didn't want to hang around. I was fully reimbursed on my next check.

I appreciate your defense of money. I think things have improved then. It used to be that if someone told a dispather tosend 100 dollars there is going to be a fight up front or in the back bunkhouse over it.

My dad brought a Stihl home when I was 13, then promptly declared himself scared to use it. It's been mine ever since. I take it to the saw shop every 3-4 years to make sure it keeps on purring. That saw has been keeping my mom warm every winter for 23 years straight now (granted it's only cold enough for a fire about six weeks a year).

I kept a number of families warm for 5 years with that saw each winter. It seemed like God was blessing us with a never ending forest on our land, too worthless for toothpicks but very easy to keep dozens warm in the winter blast. Free too. A gift giving back some what we were able to recieve over the years.

It also kept from getting me fat, lazy and obese in some of the worst times fighting Cancer.

Oats and honey granola bars is my fave. Box of 36 bars from walmart is little less than $7. imo it tastes great, its healthy and a life saver when you get stuck at the shipper.
