Or, you know, just say no.

The carrier gets a long form DOT medical certification for their files. It has a very abbreviated health history on it. Legally that is all they are entitled to unless you sign that little form. HIPAA exists for a reason. Your medical history is nobodys business but your own. Heck, your health insurance doesn't even ask for it.

There are a million companies out there. Rolling over on this one sets a real dangerous precident. Please don't.

Save yourself from stress by hiring on with a company that will accept your cdl school physical. Those companies will only require a urine test and maybe check your blood pressure.
    There's several to choose from:
    Freymiller
    Magnum Ltd.
    J&R Schugel
    Dartco Inc.
    Paschall Truck Lines
    TransAm
    CRST
    Navajo Express

    MosquitoBandito Thanks this.

Or they do freight that requires alot of physical exertion and want to make sure you can handle the job. A lot of open deck freight ain't easy and you'll often be slinging at least half (if not more) of your own body weight in tarps, racks, dunnage, etc., just to get the load ready to be loaded. There's a reason you don't see many overweight, greasy-haired, dirtbag flatbedders.

Or throw bags of feed from big wood onto small wood. See 48 pallets turn into a 90+ pallet nightmare as you restack it all.

Thanks everyone for your help. Seems like I was nervous about nothing. With as crazy as regulations are getting these days, I wouldn't put it past them to ask for this.

Alot of flatbed companies require a physical agility test. Tmc, btc, p&s all do. Personally I don't have an issue with that, what I do have issue with is needing a full medical history

Hipaa doesn't apply here, we are exempt.

To the op, there is no reason for this, if they use the excuse they need to see the physical results, they are lying, they need proof the physical was done and that's it.

Swift was just a basic DOT physical and nothing else.

I did forget to add that asking for complete access to your entire medical history does seem a bit over the top to me.
