Here's the cab of the actual bus where I failed my bus test the first time failed the air break examination right in that drivers seat. I think that school bus is a 1994 Wayne with International chassis, and front.

Why wouldn't they allow you not to use there truck? They know not everyone makes it the first time around, your also a paying customer and they have an obligation to satisfy you.

Technical school says policy is two test only anything more must be approved by DeanMike2633 Thanks this.

Well that would make sense, I know they cap it somewhere, problem is you can't just rent a tractor trailer from Ryder or Penske, it's not that easy, to actually rent one they want to see a CDL license and your DOT # and you have to have a legitimate business account set up with them, it's a whole big production.

Well my brother had his own company and I would drive his truck but it's in the shop n the Penske place he is renting a truck from only has autos

APEX CDL Video is the best guide you can use. Its around here in the forums. Lines out the air brake requirements and talks you through it. What to say. Thing is you have to practice it and talk it through. One thing that helped me is memorizing it and using the touch/talk method.
I'd say talk to the program head of the truck driving if you haven't already. I can see why they say test twice and that's it. Nerves will get the better of people (they know this). Our school implemented same thing after our class. They'd have a bunch of people test out who weren't ready all because of one truck of 4 pass the first shot. So everybody wanted to be next to get it over with lol.
Problem it creates is a double edged sword. It cuts down the time wasted for examiners so they can continue training their class to prepare people who need the extra practice.
I recall my last 2 weeks because everyone wanted their chance. 5 trucks total. 4 people passed first shot in 1 truck. That left about 14 people that needed to test out in two weeks. Requirements being those who fail have to wait 48 hrs before they can re-test. 3 days both weeks we tested. Some passed first shot..... others... well it took 3 or 4 times. Those we're long hot days in the sun. -
I failed it the first time. The testing center was closed in my town so I drove an hour north with my instructor to take it at another DMV site. Everything went very well until the alley dock. The tester said go ahead and park it in there. I was having A LOT of trouble because of limited space. I found out much later that the schools in that area test out drivers in a day cab with a 28 footer. I was in a 53 footer with a sleeper! After failing miserably trying to get it in there the tester said times up, I have to fail you and said I could've driven up over the curb and into the grass if I needed more room to setup because of the size of my rig. He told me that AFTER. Haha oh well I went in there the next day and passed knowing that information
