If you have been out here Twenty One years you are well aware a homophobic a lot of truck drivers can be. Transphobia is probably even worse since you would be more visible. I say more power to you you got to live an authentic life just be careful and don't put yourself in situations that could be dangerous.
rabbiporkchop, CrappieJunkie, Rusty Trawler and 5 others Thank this. -
Aye, I agree with @Midnightrider909... I would imagine shippers/receivers wouldn't even be an issue(I've ran into a couple transgender security guards), it will be with other drivers. You'll probably be ostracized from the infamous counter of driverly wisdom and tales, and maybe hear some off comments from other drivers who feel a need to reinforce 100 year old social norms.
But either way- Be you, do what feels right, and ignore the people who can't understand.Rusty Trawler, FerrissWheel, SHOJim and 3 others Thank this. -
You can get your freak on and still be safety toe too.
Dr.Lou, Rusty Trawler, pattyj and 7 others Thank this. -
Most homophobes, are either suppressing something or were taught to become that way by one that was or is suppressing something. Tranny's are human beings like the rest of us and should be treated as such.

A guy came up too me the other day in Georgia and started discussing reefers vs dry vans. had mascara and make up on. I could care less, not my business or place too judge others.

Be yourself, no matter what you do everybody will not approve. so might as well be happy
Igottapee!!, Midnightrider909, KillingTime and 2 others Thank this. -
You cannot have picked a harder Industry to be yourself in. You are what you are. Fine. Dress normally and wear safety boots etc as required by your work.
You already know what people will say and do around you, don't go looking for trouble by trying to find out something that is not there. If you are a girl then go run with the girls. Likewise with a guy. People are people. Most are already established in prejudices etc.
You will find that going about your life and work quietly without drama or seeking trouble that you know exists in the form of discrimination etc tends to foster a peaceful life style, for whatever it may be to you.
Ive posted all I can post. I already have issues, but they don't matter here. Ive run into trans before in trucking and frankly there is no trouble when they don't go looking for something that isnt there for them.Moon_beam, FerrissWheel and noluck Thank this. -
Do you know most homophobes? You can't be progressive and Judgie at the same time. Pick one. I personally don't care what you do. But if you do it, you shouldn't care if I stare at you. It's human nature not prejudice. If something is not the norm, you tend to study it. If someone says a rude comment to you that's just bad manners.dunchues, not4hire, fargonaz and 1 other person Thank this.
