A certain emptiness has entered into my life since Broken Down 69er days at Trans Am have come to a close.
Guess I'll just have to replace that emptiness with YouTube videos of train wrecks.

I've never worked at either of these companies, and have no experience with Western Express or Covenant. Their reputation on the board here is a bit less than glowing.
Either that, or you could get into self-flagellation...
Broke Down 69, Panhandle flash and D LOOK Thank this. -
I'm on my second day of Orientation for TA in Olathe, KS and I am going to get some experience with this company. (Company Driving Experience, not The Lease Program). I won't bore everyone with what went on in Orientation the last couple days. Who could even compare to @Broke Down 69 in the presentation. I miss his story myself.Broke Down 69, austinmike, Big Don and 2 others Thank this.

Has anyone heard from @Broke Down 69 ? Maybe he's posting on another thread, and we are missing the action.
I passed the Track 1 at TA and got hired. They moved me from a double person room to a single room in the La Quinta. Nice to have a room to myself for the next few days. It's Friday night, and we will start Track 2 on Monday with slow maneuvering, backing, driving practice and then tests. We had 8 people that were experienced in class that all went Lease, and the other 8 people that are Student Drivers are all going Company. Maybe they all read threads like this. LOL
Broke Down 69 and carramrod32 Thank this. -
I'm still alive guys, just been real, real busy...not to mention pretty dadgum sore. I'm really enjoying the new gig and have even got a taste of doing it in pretty nasty weather. First day it was raining cats and dogs, yesterday it was a whopping 9 degrees with a 20 mph wind in Old Fort NC while I tarped my first load alone. Took about an hour to get it secured but my trainer...safely ensconced in the warm confines of the truck...pronounced it as fine a tarp job as he could have done, although I'm certain he could have done it in half the time...the guy is fast. Got my own truck this morning and I'm very pleased. 13 speed, big power, no camera in my face and very roomy. Life in the left lane going 73 is just wonderful.
Passed a couple Trans Am trucks this morning on the way home. Very satisfying.
I'll be starting a new thread later today or tomorrow on my new job. I'll post a link to it here.Last edited: Dec 10, 2016
