Hence the name...bored silly lolbored silly Thanks this.

True.. but a store bought cb antenna is cut from the manufactuer to be resonant on 11meters, only requiring minor tuning for a simple install. Which is my point, keep it simple for those who want a simple install. You dont have to have an analyzer to get on the air.
-
A decient AA does more than help with swr which is not really the correct way to tune...
-
Since a 50 ohm mobile antenna doesn't exist, adjusting to 50 ohms means it is no longer resonant.

I threw on a 4ft francis antenna, and 9ft of copper sheild truck stop coax a cpl weeks ago. I didnt use an analyzer or swr meter, or anything to tune it. Oh the horror!!!
Its a wonder it even works...
bored silly Thanks this. -
What should the ohms be? Think someone on a u tube vid mentioned 35??
-
I'd be interested in what you believe the correct impedance is.

Leon...Im sure one of the ham guys on a you tube said somethin like 35 or 38 ohms..
-
That's a loaded question. Correct as in what the transmitter wants to see or correct as in what the antenna will be without a shunt matching coil???
