Lol. Elogs aren't that bad. If you can't make money running elogs then I would check into one of those other jobs. I still run all the miles I want/need only I don't have to worry about being legal. Of course I don't run 6000 miles a week like I did when I started trucking 18 years ago but hell who wants to work that hard. Good luck with whatever you choose.

    That isnt
that doesn't necessarily mean it's double brokerd, sometimes a shipper will shoot an e-mail to multiple brokers with available loads. First one to cover the load gets it so they have to call shipper to check load availability.

So say you pull into the scalehouse they see it's a 95(older model) and that you're not running electronic logs (no sticker) . all right pull around and lets see your logbook(s) oh and while your here I'm doing an inspection. Isn't that great? You know if it was a little bit newer like say a 98 you would have an electronic motor which is the better motor anyway and you would be able to have an elog they would see the sticker and go well you must be running legal logs no sense in him pulling around if his truck looks nice. I'll take option number two

when they want to pull you in for inspection dosn't matter if its older truck or brandnew.as we all know if they want to find something wrong they will find it on brand new truck or trailer.as i mentioned earlier if you guys like running elogs more power to you.alot of us out here don't.far as i see this, we as owner operator's or small fleets provide better SERVICE which companies with even thousands of trucks cannot.that's why some brokers or shiipers like working with us & and pay well.that's when ELOG fails!!!!!

I loaded at Pratt and Whitney Tuesday. One of the first things he side said to me was "i need to see your logging device. I can't load you if you don't have a functioning elog". For those that don't know, pratt and Whitney make jet engines, which is some of the best paying freight in the industry outside of super loads. Not sure why they will only use an elog truck but id bet it has to do with litigation concerns.

Ironically, this particular load never left their property so it was all done on duty not driving. Just moved it from one building to another a few hundred yards away.

This was in Florida. The one on 710. I figure it's a recent thing. Was the first time they ever asked that and i load at the same facility a few times a month. Or maybe an engineer with a bug up his but that day? Only thing i know is i like their loads (more specifically, i like their money) and if they want an elog, I'll keep the elog.

    RStewart and nikmirbre Thank this.

Aren't there ports in Florida? I would think one could haul containers, if nothing else.
