With a new driver it takes an average of 6 months to learn proper shifting to obtain good mpg...an automatic it eliminates that 6 months, they see mpg...fuel savings right away. That's one reason mega's are switching out to auto's. .
Is millis transfer still a good company too work for

I always hear the mpg reason for automatics but the truth is they gear the trucks differently with automatics. When I'm loaded heavy i shift the truck manually because the auto wants to shift way to early. The autos are geared higher for a lower rpm at highway speed but power suffers because of it. All their videos say it has the same power at lower rpms but that is bunch of bull. I could get the same mpg out of a manual 10 speed geared the same way.

Millis related question, although rather off topic; how do you current Millis drivers like the "super-single" tires? Especially now that winter has come.

chi-town joe and DRAGON64 Thank this.

Reading these threads and watching a couple of YouTube video's, Millis really does seem to be a company that look's out for it's driver's.

My kids are grown so I'm looking at this as a second career so to speak. I know there was a gentleman from the Chicago area that went to Richfield a couple of months ago, forgot his name, haven't really seen any new posts ,was wondering how everything was going for him..
