Where are you finding $6 fuel?

$5,000 in fuel round trip maybe. I drove 4,800 miles from Ft Worth to Anchorage via Portland last summer. I barely spent $2,000. Thou I shop around for fuel, and picked up next to none in Canada.

Fill up in Fairbanks before heading to prudhoe. When you turn around only get enough to give you a cushion. Dont fill up unless you are actually going to burn it.

 

I'm not sure that's the best advice in the extreme temps.

 

Summer vs winter .... A little different .

 

Another issue in winter is if you have a def truck the pumps are frozen in northern Canada often in the extreme cold and you need to buy jugs to carry with you

why wouldn't Landstar back up a run to with a return load?

Then again, OP either has serious roaming charges or is currently out of contact with humanity as we know it.

 

Unless he has a sat phone, he is out of touch till he gets to fairbanks. Maybe even to he gets back to the lower 48. And even if he would of rented a satellite phone for this trip, data charges would be insane, so i doubt we would hear from him till back safe and sound in the lower 48.

 

Same reason guys dh out of Miami or nyc. Lot more inbound freight than out bound.
