A little too late for that. But, I suppose while I'm transitioning to another job, I could start up my low carb diet I was doing before. It worked pretty well, actually.
I only went to Prime because they offered the paid training if you worked for them for a full year. Well, that didn't work out for me, but at least I have a clean CDL license, just need more experience on the road. -
Thanks @TROOPER to TRUCKER
Yes, I drive for Abilene out of Richmond, VA and been over a year now... they have both OTR options and a NE Regional group of Drivers if you are wanting to stay in that Region.
I know one of our NE Drivers has a SA Machine and had it prior to coming here. I doubt he had any issues but I can ask.
Good Equipment, Great Frieght
It does have its issues but a good company.
Oh, they also have an internal post CDL Training Program too. So if you have not driven longer than a year they will run you through it for a bit before going solo so you get to know their processes before you are on your own.
Feel free to drop me a PM here if you have more questions and Good Luck on the job search!!!
Stay Safe,

Just amazes me how the federal government allows trucking companies to dictate on our health issues.what ever happened to the hipa law and why are truck drivers exempt?....just sayin

Probably a Bipap, for more severe sleep apnea. Captain does not know what he is talking about, done been there and done that. They are now trying to get my levels correct with a Bipap st, and yes they are expensive. If you have severe sleep apnea, does no good to be on cpap usually. So if it does not help your sleep, then its not doing you any good.

My sleep has been just fine actually. I don't feel nearly as tired as I used to be before I used my cpap machine. The guys at the sleep center just keep telling me that everything they used to help has had little effect in treating my issue.
I feel great when I drive, even at night, but apparantly, that's not good enough for them... -
They're describing an "iron lung." A little extreme, even for Prime.
Go with another company that doesn't require another physical and will accept your current long form/DOT physical.
These don't require a new physical if you have several months left on your current one:
Magnum Ltd.
Navajo Express
J&R Schugel
Freymiller
any other companies, listed below, just ask if a new physical is required:
NFI Industries
Abilene Motor Express
Eastern Freightways
Calex Logisticsgillz107 Thanks this. -
Once you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, you have to tell your doctor when you get your next medical card. There is a place on long form that ask you about any sleep disorders. Once he knows this, he has to have a reading from your machine that shows it is doing what its supposed to, otherwise they will not renew your medical card until fixed. The machines have a sd card in them that can be given to doctor, but some machines like mine is monitored by a company at all times. If they see issues they contact my doctor. That being said, when I say you have to tell them, that's up to you, but if you are ever in a accident and did not tell them, might be a bad thing.

If you have sleep apnea and it's not under control should you be driving?
