I feel for this guy. I really do but stuff like this is avoidable. There is no excuse.
Just yesterday I found myself in a bad situation. Was dispatched to a plant that we don't deliver to regularly. Looked at my map and figured out how to get there. Took a left onto the street and drove down a mile until I realized the road ended. There was a new development being built. The area was leveled with construction equipment everywhere.
Well, the road was only 10 feet wide. Making a u turn was impossible and I WOULD back out the whole distance BUT I was in a set of doubles. That would've been interesting. The delivery was just on the other side. So I walked the half mile checking for soft ground, gas lines, etc. determined it was safe, put it in low gear and got to the other side safely.
The important thing in these situations is to stay calm. Accidents happen when you get excited. Get out and look, walk and assess the situation. Be safe.
What can you do after a jackknife?

That one will pull a few loads of dog food I'm sure.
I do 3 to 6 P/U's at night at a customer that demands clean & swept, and they mean it, so no point in even trying it there.
If it cycles through a few times and still stinks, 3 lbs can coffee fixes anything.SingingWolf Thanks this. -
I like to blame things/people/hair when I jack knife my rig.
There's times I'd like to use that USA Truck's solution. -

That USA Truck truck may have been an ugly fleet truck but it still brings a tear to my eye to see something get torn up for no reason.

Now, in a tight situation with little maneuvering room, the same basic principles apply, but you may have to do a lot of back and forth, moving things around, and I can't tell you what to do without knowing the exact situation. But in a simple jacknife situation you really can simply drive straight forward, or turn away from the trailer. -
