I feel for this guy. I really do but stuff like this is avoidable. There is no excuse.

Just yesterday I found myself in a bad situation. Was dispatched to a plant that we don't deliver to regularly. Looked at my map and figured out how to get there. Took a left onto the street and drove down a mile until I realized the road ended. There was a new development being built. The area was leveled with construction equipment everywhere.

Well, the road was only 10 feet wide. Making a u turn was impossible and I WOULD back out the whole distance BUT I was in a set of doubles. That would've been interesting. The delivery was just on the other side. So I walked the half mile checking for soft ground, gas lines, etc. determined it was safe, put it in low gear and got to the other side safely.

The important thing in these situations is to stay calm. Accidents happen when you get excited. Get out and look, walk and assess the situation. Be safe.

Trailer washout then leave doors open.
That one will pull a few loads of dog food I'm sure.

I do 3 to 6 P/U's at night at a customer that demands clean & swept, and they mean it, so no point in even trying it there.
If it cycles through a few times and still stinks, 3 lbs can coffee fixes anything.

I like to blame things/people/hair when I jack knife my rig.

There's times I'd like to use that USA Truck's solution.

the only thing I saw that driver do wrong in that situation was he didn't take out the electrical pole. if he had knocked down the electrical pole he would have had all the room he needed come on you got to work smarter not harder. I mean I never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the place that you keep the thingies to put the tool thing is back into forget what you call that..?? Weight what were we talking about again

That USA Truck truck may have been an ugly fleet truck but it still brings a tear to my eye to see something get torn up for no reason.

There's all kinds of wisdom on how to avoid that situation. However, if you simply are asking what to do now, that it has happened, the truck and trailer are stopped, it's easy. Look at that truck. If nothing is in front of him he just drives forward. If the truck is in a tight spot, he can turn to the left. When he's going to hit something, he can back back up, with the wheel turned the other way. In other words, you are simply straightening things up.

Now, in a tight situation with little maneuvering room, the same basic principles apply, but you may have to do a lot of back and forth, moving things around, and I can't tell you what to do without knowing the exact situation. But in a simple jacknife situation you really can simply drive straight forward, or turn away from the trailer.

I only said that back in the 1st post lol. Can't understand why anyone would want to add insult to injury and call a wrecker if the truck happens to still be driveable (though I think we can all agree that most jackknifes are much worse than what's in the pic OP posted).

That thing is wasted lol. Look at the end of the video, the steering axle is bent, front drive is all caddywampus. The best part of that video are the two dudes throwing all the parts up onto the embankment.
