There's one less good paying job.
Once you see them pulling ups then you know it's all over.
500 bucks a week for everybody.

Actually from what I was told by the trailer asset manager back when I was with central/swift, the trls that ups used sit the remainder of the year. They pay swift enough money to let them sit all year. That's why I always found it humorous when I overheard dispatch telling a driver they didn't have any empties. Those trls can't be touched at all.
The picture I attached below is just one of the yards where they pack in the ups trls during off season in Chicago.Attached Files:

All freight companies use shiny wheel contractors at some point. YRC can't find enough help and after being here 9 months I understand why. This place is a joke top to bottom and I'm not kidding. There is no accountability whatsoever....laziness is tolerated to degrees that I've never seen. I'll get my year and move on.speedyk and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

That what I did....

That's crazy. Why not just buy trailers then. Not like UPS isn't loaded with money. Every time I see one pulling a swift trailer it looks brand new, which I'm sure is exactly how they want it. Give that trailer to a swift driver, it ain't coming back looking like that.

It's about taxes more than logistics at a certain point. If it doesn't make sense there's big money involved.

I thought YRC was ne of those great, easy, high paying
Linehaul jobs that everybody on this forum talks about. -
Over here on the freight side, UPSF, we got CRST, Forward Air, and a few others i forget pulling for us.

Do they utilize Coyote Logistics on the Freight side? I know the parcel guys scream about them. Just curious.

It used to be a good job before Yellow bought Roadway. Now they are barely hanging by a thread and under a mountain of debt made only slightly more sustainable by wage and benefit reductions agreed upon by the union. So the pay sucks, most of the equipment sucks, and the company may not last another 5 or 10 years. Not all LTL jobs are comparable. YRC is near the bottom of the list.
