Dang it man. You are hard on yourself. I couldn't bring myself to say it but YOU screwed up. Tha blame is all on you. And how well I know: you can't turn the clock back.

Well who else would I blame??? That's why I bought my own truck. The blame lies squarely on me for my choices. Good or bad

Keep in mind Tug Toy- Don't Feel bad because you file a claim either- Your rates wont necessarily go up-(Length of time with insurance-Past history etc) Makes a difference.

I Just hate to see you fork out $5k or more in repairs because of this parking lot- It takes a while to PROFIT 5k...Remember that.

This is my first year as a truck owner. I have used my CDL on and off on a limited basis since 1992. I am trying to be carefull of the decisions I make now as the consequences may fallow me forward. I can repair the rest myself over a couple of weekends and minimal cash. I was kind of thinking of one of those drop bumpers for a while now. Also thinking I could stripe the fenders red or orange while I'm at it?

This being my first year I planned for it to be a struggle. It turned out I did quite a bit better than planed. I won't really miss the $2k I spent already. I learned a lot this year and have a revised plan and budget set for next year since October using what I learned this year. I will put it into practice and hopefully do better in 2017. I'm not worried yet

But if I do this again I will have to adjust my plan drastically for other reasons besides money.

I would say pay it out of pocket, just so the boss doesnt find out. Don't wanna get fired for one little oops.

Accident with a tow.... Is it required to report accident? I would just repair for the reasons you gave.
I don't know if it is required to report accident or to who. I'm an o/o also. Just curious.

    Good luck.

Technically yes that is a dot reportable. But if the op reports it to the fmcsa I'm gonna personally slap some common freaking sense into him.
